Camping Adventure!

On Saturday and Sunday night we decided to venture out and go camping with Nat. We took him when he was a baby and it was SOOOO much easier back then! But we still had fun despite the 100 degree weather (stupid us for not checking the weather first!) and Nat getting into everything! We went to Stone Mountain Park, where Nat got to see the World's largest laser show (complete with fireworks!), ride a train, and he went to the "Great Barn", an indoor kids/ball center, and "Ride the Ducks" with daddy.

Nat has been fascinated with tunnels lately, so as soon as we got the tent up he yelled, "TUNNEL!" and started running around inside very excitedly. It was worth all the trouble at that point. Trouble, you ask? Yes, we happened to have chosen the rockiest camp spot on the campground. PLUS, we forgot our hammer. So we were banging stakes in with stones, until some nice gentleman drove by and saw us struggling and lent us his hammer. The hammer didn't help at all though, the ground was THAT rocky! 2 hours later, voila! Tent was up!

Nat had his first campfire smores. We were the only ones dumb enough to have a campfire going in the 80 degree evening, so we pulled out our fan to cool us off while we watched the fire.

On our way back home, we stopped at a restaurant to eat breakfast. Our little child, decided he was done with the weekend and was throwing quite a fit. He settled down when the food got there, but then I had to use the restroom, so I left Nat with Daddy. I come back and Nathanael had opened a butter packet, while Bryan was on the phone, and greasy butter was EVERYWHERE! So, Bryan went to the bathroom while I cleaned up, while I was cleaning up...Nat decided he hadn't gotten into enough trouble! I had bent down to pick up the containers of butter he had dropped, I come back up and he is taking a swig out of the hot sauce! I am not kidding you, it was like the scene from "Dumb and Dumber", where they drink the hot sauce. His face was turning red, he was trying to fan his tongue with his hands. He was drinking his water like there was no tomorrow. He then threw up several times everywhere! Of course, the waitress was right there at the table with our check when it happened (EMBARASSING!).

So that was part of our camping adventures...we will hopefully remember not to camp in the summer next time, well at least not Georgia summers!
